Class Workout
Today in my 8 a.m. class, Applied Principles of Exercise with Mrs. Saeler, we did a small cardio workout followed by PNF partner stretches and foam roller stretches. The cardio workout was done with a partner, where one partner started jump roping while the other ran a lap around the indoor grasstext track. When the partner who ran the lap was done with that, they came in and jump roped while the partner who was jump roping runs a lap. Each partner went through the sequence four times for each of the exercises. After this, we performed PNF whole body stretches starting with the neck and ending with the ankles. PNF stretching is a great, maybe even one of the best ways an individual can perform stretches and get better flexibility. After this, we perform some foam roller stretches, as well as lacrosse ball stretches starting with the back for foam rollers and working down to the feet with the lacrosse ball. We have worked on these types of stretches throughout the semester in this class and I've learned a lot about the different ways it can improve flexibility and help with overall soreness of the body. I always enjoy this class!
